Why I love Pop Bitties

Admittedly, I get a decent amount of samples sent to me to try. I do love this part of my job, because it’s nice to be able to let my readers know of good stuff coming down the pipeline.

But, I have tasted some duds in my life. So, I am cautiously optimistic when I receive new samples.

I honestly was like “Oh, great. Another company that thinks they can do a vegan sour cream and onion flavor.” I’ve yet to find a company that can make it taste like the real thing when it’s trying to be a vegan copycat. And, let me tell you…once I tasted it, I reached out to THEM asking if I could work with them. I have zero food restrictions, and I enjoy eating their Sour Cream & Onion. I could have the regular stuff, and I choose to snack on theirs!

I truly enjoy it.  I’ll try to save a lot of allergy food for my kids, but I have eaten way more than they have of this product.

I know you’ll like it, too! And they have great sizes for travel, whether for kids’ lunches or for a snack in the car.

Pop Bitties are CORN FREE!

One thing that I was really excited about was that these have the light crunchiness of popcorn–BUT WITHOUT CORN. The texture is like popcorn and chips got married and had a beautiful baby–except, there’s no corn. I get requests from my corn allergy friends for snacks and it seems like it’s always impossible to find things that don’t have corn in them. I’m so happy they can have an easy, portable snack that has that same satisfying mouth feel.

What flavors does Pop Bitties have?

Pop Bitties has four flavors: Hickory Barbeque, Vegan Sour Cream & Onion, Pink Himalayan Salt, and Maple & Sea Salt. My favorite as mentioned was the Vegan Sour Cream & Onion. The Maple & Sea Salt was a nice switch to have a sweet version instead of all savory. The Pink Hamalayn Salt has the classic simplicity of a salty snack and would be great as a dipping chip. The Hickory Barbeque is my son’s favorite, and it definitely has a very smoky barbeque flavor to it.

Are Pop Bitties allergy friendly?

Yes! Not only do they not have any gluten, dairy or eggs in them (because they’re gluten free and vegan) BUT, and this is a big deal, they are also tree nut and peanut free. They are also non-GMO verified and have no artificial ingredients. Food allergy sufferers rejoice! I’ll break out the individual ingredients of each flavor below, so you have it all in one place, instead of having to click on each product.

What is sorghum & is it gluten free?

The grains in this snack are: Sorghum, Brown Rice, Quinoa, and Chia Seeds. I feel like most are familiar with brown rice, quinoa and chia seeds, but you may not know much about sorghum. On nationalceliac.org it lists sorghum as a “nutritious and high fiber gluten-free whole grain.”

Sorghum and quinoa are also considered ancient grains that have multiple vitamins and tend to be less processed than traditional wheat or corn. Basically, it’s a great grain for anyone–especially those who need gluten-free grains.
